This is the door lock mechanism that bolts into the inside of the driver's (right) side front door on your Nissan Patrol GU Y61. 

The electronic component and the physical door lock mechanism are separate items. Internal failure of the door lock itself is a common issue.

When diagnosing your door lock, be aware that the driver's door will only lock when fully closed and the latch is in the second, engaged position. It will not lock when the driver's door is open.
