This front oxygen sensor, also known as an O2 sensor or air-fuel ratio sensor, is fitted into the vehicle's exhaust manifold before the catalytic converter. It is a critical component of your vehicle's fuel and emissions system, measuring the amount of unburnt oxygen in the exhaust gas. This information is relayed to the engine control unit (ECU) to make real-time adjustments to the air-fuel mixture for optimal performance and efficiency.
Over time, these sensors can become fouled by contaminants or fail due to constant exposure to extreme heat. A failing sensor will often trigger a check engine light and can lead to symptoms like poor fuel economy, rough idling, hesitation, or failed emissions tests.
THIS SENSOR IS FOR TB48 BEFORE 2006
The earlier TB48 engines have 2 Oxygen sensors and the later models have 4.
2006 onwards models have 4 sensors, and the 2 upper ones were also changed after 2006. So please check the pictures of the plugs in the photo before purchasing. The earlier plugs are 4 pin wide. the later are 2 rows of 2 pins.
